JIB ECS (Gold) Card is quickly becoming a necessity when seeking work on commercial sites, or sub-contracting to larger contractors.

What is the JIB ECS Gold Card?

The Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) is the occupational certification scheme for electrotechnical workers within the UK. The Gold Card certifies that the cardholder has proved their specific experience and competence through a set, ‘rigorous and robust’ assessment process.

The Joint Industry Board (JIB) are the owners and issuing authority for the ECS in England, Wales & Northern Ireland, whilst north of the border is served by the ‘Scottish JIB’.

Who is this package suitable for?

This is the most comprehensive of all our electrical training packages available here at Optima Electrical Training. This programme will provide you with all the training and assessments required to achieve JIB Gold Card status in a Fast Track format saving you time and money. From beginner to fully qualified, this programme has everything that you will need.

The City & Guilds Gold Card Journey

You will start this programme by learning the fundamental requirements when undertaking an electrical installation as well as information relating to the structure and organisation of the electrical industry. This is all covered within the C&G 2365 level 2.

You will then move on to more advanced C&G 2365 level 3 where you will cover scientific principles, fault diagnosis and rectification as well as receive an abundance of knowledge on inspection and testing and installation design.

Upon completion of the Level 2 and 3 Diplomas you will continue your studies by participating in the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – C&G 2382-18 which then seamlessly leads on the very popular and much desired C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing course.

At this stage you should be working within the industry. We will then arrange site assessments in order for you to achieve C&G 2357 NVQ 3.

    E-learning options can be started at any time, with practical workshops scheduled at a time that is convenient for you, and are not restricted to the dates mentioned above.

  • The criteria / method of assessment varies from unit to unit. Most units have an exam (written and/or online) and others have practical assessments. Your lecturer will notify of you which is required enabling you to adequately prepare for that particular unit.

  • The pass rate for this course package is over 95%. Our high pass rate is partly down to the structure and delivery of the content, however, the fact that we deliver classes in class sizes smaller than most other training centres (average 8 - 12 students) enables us to provide a more intimate, personal learning experience.

    Training in smaller groups also allows this course to be tailored/adapted to focus on any weaker points an individual learner or group may have.
